On November 8, 2014 John Carbonara suffered a severe, devastating stroke. John spent two weeks in an Intensive Care unit, battling his symptoms and communicating with his eyes. The magnitude of this stroke left John unable to move for weeks. Knowing the difficult road of recovery that lie ahead - we did our best to support John and his recovery. As John is simply an amazing person full of life, love, light, happiness, caring, generosity and embodies the characteristics of the kind of person we should all strive to be…We all love John. John is a loving husband and a prolific Assistant Prosecutor for Mercer County, New Jersey.

Since his discharge from the Intensive Care Unit, he has been in a rehab facility working super hard on his recovery. As the road ahead is long and uncertain, John refuses to give up and is making huge strides towards recovery. Everyday John lights up the gym room with a new step toward recovering – moving his head, moving his leg (yes leg!), rotating his foot, pushing pedals on a modified bike (no surprise there!), moving his arm and hand and working harder than ever on speech.
