Car Trouble - Grateful for Any Help You Can Give:)

Hi, my name is Ray.

Our family car completely broke down, and my kids and I are asking for your kind help today because I have no other way to fix this horrible situation for my family. 

I was driving back to our apartment on the highway when our car engine suddenly lost power and shut down right in the middle of rush hour traffic. Although I tried several times to get it started, I ended up putting it in neutral and pushing it to a safer place on the side of the highway. Unfortunately, I finally had to call a tow truck and have it towed to a mechanic.

Before our car broke down, I noticed the transmission slipping a lot. So I just figured that with over 244,000 miles on the odometer, maybe all our car needed was some transmission fluid. However, the news from the mechanic was even worse.

When the mechanic called, he informed me that our 2012 Toyota Camry engine would never work again because the timing chain broke and all the engine valves were bent. He said the estimate to replace the engine and fix the transmission could be as much as $10,000 or more, depending on the condition and miles of the newer engine and transmission, plus tax.

Unfortunately, the company I've been loyal to for so many years cut my income in half when the pandemic started, which wiped out my bank account. As a result, my kids and I are living check-to-check. I do not have any extra money to fix our car or to make payments on another used car.

I am a hardworking single dad, and I love my kids more than anything. Your help today would mean the world to me and help our family tremendously. Especially now that used car prices are so high.

With your help, I am hoping to raise $9,700. My kids and I need a more dependable used car with low mileage, so I can get them safely to and from school every day, get groceries, and drive back and forth to work.
