Car for Working Mama

A local friend is an extremely hardworking mother of two children with considerable disabilities. "Juana" is a Legal Permanent Resident who arrived in the U.S. a few months ago.  Upon her arrival to join her husband, he abandoned her and his two children. Juana works full time and also recently joined the Navy to serve our country. She will begin basic training early next year. In the meantime, she is in urgent need of a car; she currently spends hundreds of dollars a month on Uber transportation to and from her job, English classes and boot camp training.


Juana's friends are helping her research used cars and funding resources; we have $1500 to start with and hope to raise a total of $5,000 for a decent ride. (She is currently unable to secure a loan: insufficient income, little time to establish a credit history, not yet eligible for military personnel loans.)
