Hello everyone, my name is Lovensky Philippe. I am 23 years old and a recent graduate from Kean University.
On December 12, 2020, between the hours of 11 PM-1 AM I had a near-death experience. My car caught on fire and exploded. Not only was my life on the line, but the life of two friends that were in the car with me.
It all started on December 11, 2020, when a couple of friends and I all decided to go out to celebrate some of my recent accomplishments. As a recent graduate from college, I’ve been working relentlessly on starting my first venture and have been putting a lot of effort into applying for jobs and interviewing with various companies to see which is the best fit for me. As a result, some of my closest friends wanted to show me how proud they were of all of my hard work and dedication so they decided to take me out to dinner. Little did I know, later that night my life would take a turn for the worst.
My friends and I decided on a restaurant located in Edison Nj. The food there was amazing and scenery was breathtaking. After an amazing meal and spending quality time with my peers, we dedicated to drive back home. As we were driving home on route 1&9 South, I noticed my car making unusual noises. I was driving approximately 40 miles per hour then remember hearing a loud POP sound. My car started slowing down so l decided to pull over. As I pulled over I noticed that my car was smoking and that the smoke came from under the hood. My friend who was following me home pulled over next to me and shouted that was car ON FIRE and to GET OUT.
At first, I thought he was joking. At the moment and time, I was thinking to myself that my car’s inspection sticker is up to date and has been serviced recently so there’s no reason for my car to be on fire. As my friend kept shouting, I took what he said into consideration and told two other friends that were inside of my vehicle to get out. As we exit my car, the first thing I noticed was the unusual amount of smoke that was coming from under my hood. The second thing I noticed was the fact that my car was ON FIRE. My peers and I all ran from the car as fast as possible then proceeded to call 911.
Edison Police and Edison firefighters arrived at the scene at approximately 10 minutes and by then my car was up in flames. The only thing that I thought about as my car went up in flames was the fact that all of my friends and I were safe. I am extremely grateful to be alive and extremely grateful that GOD was looking over my shoulders during a situation that could’ve turned fatal.
The reason for creating this GOfUNDME is to not only raise awareness on how the most positive situations in your life can take a turn for the worst but also because I got in contact with my Liability insurance Company and they said that they won’t be able to reimburse me for any of the damages that occurred to my vehicle. Please SHARE this GOFUNDME page so that we can help spread awareness and please DONATE.
