Car Accident of Pregnant Woman Life Flighted

This is the only official go fund me for the Hughes family. As most people have heard by now Rachel (24 year old pregnant woman) was driving her car home from work Thursday morning and blacked out. This black out resulted in a horrifying car accident where she went speeding straight into a rock wall in someone’s back lawn. The footage of the accident was actually caught on video by the neighbors security camera and is extremely hard to watch.

Rachel was then transported by ambulance to Mountain Point Medical and then was immediately life flighted to University of Utah Hospital where her husband was waiting for her. As soon as Hunter (her husband) got to see her they turned around and wheeled her right out the door yelling that she needed an emergency c-section. Their first child was born at 1:18pm and his name is Beckham Harvey Hughes weighing 2lbs 12ounces. Unfortunately no one was able to hear how Beckham was doing or even see him until the doctors and nurses were able to get him past the critical condition he was in, around 5:45 they allowed Dad to go meet his son. Mom was then stable enough later that night to go say hello to her precious baby boy.

We are so grateful Rachel is doing well and the doctors still hope to figure out what caused her to blackout in the first place. Beckham still needs all our prayers and good thoughts sent his way. He was banged up from the accident and had bruises all over him. His oxygen wasn’t getting to him properly because the placenta tearing from the uterine wall which is why they had to get him out ASAP.

They have a LONG road ahead of them and all they have asked for is prayers, prayers and more prayers. But unfortunately hospitals don’t take payments of faith and love and that is where I know our community can come together and help out the Hughes family!
