Captain Tim Neild Life of Service Scholarship 2019

Donation protected
Team Timmy's mission is 3 fold; raise awareness and support for Brain Trauma, Veteran Resources, and Suicide Awareness.  With the support of BAGVO (Bridging American's Gap Veteran's Organization) we have also created a scholarship in memory of Captain Tim Neild for students in his home town with a mission or pursuing lives of service.

Captain Neild lived a life of service and did so much for others during his life. He was many things during his time on earth: a Brother, a Son, a Grandchild, a Nephew, a Friend, a Football player, a member of his father's racing pit crew, a Hockey player, a Carpenter, an Engineer, a Soldier, a Husband, a Father, and a Wounded Warrior. Tim graduated from Candor High School in 1998. He received his formal education from Delhi University and Binghamton University for Carpentry and Mechanical Engineering. Tim was an Afghanistan Veteran and a Bronze Star Recipient. He was a Captain in the Army National Guard in the 27th Brigade, Syracuse, NY and went to Sapper School for military training. He was an active member of the VFW Post # 1371 and a member of the honor guard.

In December 2013 he survived a major motor vehicle accident but never completely recovered from is his injuries that included a major Traumatic Brain Injury, 3rd & 4th degree burns, severely broken legs, collapsed lungs, etc...

During his healing, Tim was so grateful to have been saved by civilians that stopped to assist before the rescue crew arrived that he was determined to thank them all for risking their lives to save his. To formally honor them, there was a formal military ceremony as well as an event for a young hockey player that also assisted during the rescue.

To continue the healing process and receive optimal care, Tim spent time at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center is Bethesda Maryland as a patient from April 2014 to June 2016 before returning to his home town of Candor NY to begin a new chapter in his life as a Disabled Retired Veteran. Despite his efforts and the care and concern of those around him, he left this world on his own terms in October 2017 after struggling with the effects of his multiple Traumatic brain Injuries, as well as a numerous physical, mental and emotional challenges. Despite his struggles, Tim continued to make friends and fond memories with those around him until his passing...
In his memory, Team Timmy & Bridging America's Gap Veterans Organization would like to continue his mission to be of service to others- with this in mind we hope to raise funds and awareness for TBI research, Veterans resources, and Suicide Prevention. We also would like to give back t the community that offered so much support to him and his family over the years.

By making a donation, you are helping us fund a scholarship in his name at his home town school of Candor NY- a scholarship intended for students wishing to pursue education and careers of service to others. We will also be giving back to other veteran organizations that helped  Tim live his last chapter with dignity and honor, as well as fund research for brain trauma and suicide awareness.  Let's help make every day an alive day, pay it forward, and be of service to others.

Thank you for your support!
