Captain Jay's Hurricane Relief Fund

I am Lamar Smith, a friend trying to help a friend..... I am from Marble Falls  Texas and know Captain Jay Nichols through friends and using him as a reputable fishing guiude in Rockport Texas. 
If you have wanted to help with the Hurricane Harvey relief but didn’t know how, or where to send your help because you were worried about the money getting to where you intended it to go, here is an option I hope you will consider.

I am reaching out to my friends to help a personal friend in need. Captain Jay Nichols from Rockport, Texas has hit very hard times the last year or so and needs help. Jay lost his wife last year suddenly and unexpectedly, and when he was getting his life back together, Hurricane Harvey tried to take that as well. Jay is a fishing guide and has two sons, a freshman in High School and a sophomore at Texas A&M. Jay and his two boys left Rockport to take what they could pack before the storm hit and were going to go back and get the RV in case the storm made their house unlivable. They could not get back home before the storm hit. They have lost their house, and most of what was in it and lost the RV that they could have lived in…. Harvey turned it upside down. Jay has lost all his bookings for September and paying bills is going to be tough. The college expenses alone are going to be a struggle to pay. The damages and current bills have exhausted his bank account and the man needs help. Along with all this trouble, the man is front and center and helping others in the Rockport area, even as his life is falling apart around him.

A proud and faithful man, Jay did not ask for this help…. I offered. Jay offered this as we were discussing this endeavor… “I am in dire straights and have always been the one to help others. This time I am the one that needs help myself”

Playing 53 card pick up in the yard today with sheets of tin, debris, and lumber, but I am alive and I am a believer that God has a plan for me!”

Funds raised here will be used to rebuild a life for a family who not only lost a mother earlier last year, but a home and family that Hurricane Harvey tried to destroy. We all know what it cost to raise a family, and starting over from scratch at this age is double tough
