Capt Dave McFadden - Memorial Palm

Dear Friends of Dave McFadden or Capt Dave as some of you know him,
We are all greatly sadden about the loss of our dear friend Dave. In his memory, friends are coming together to sponsor the planting of palm tree in on one of his favorite places in the world; Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. As part of this sponsorship the tree will be adorned with a plaque dedicating the tree in Dave’s memory and a map shall be created marking the exact spot where it is planted.
As his friend and fellow Captain I know Dave will love this. For those of you who have sailed with him and who are regular sailors in the BVI’s this will provide the perfect memorial at which to pay respects. You can be sure that as you tap a bottle on the tree (a bud of course) or raise a Pain Killer under its shade that Capt Dave will be smiling in the rustling palm fronds above.
I will of course distribute a tree location map once it is planted.

PS – if we over-shoot the fund raising goal I will ensure, in consultation with some of his friends, that we use any surplus for a cause that Dave would wish.
