As many of you may have already heard, we will be moving our studio from its current location to a new space in Venice, a couple of miles away. Due to unreasonable rent increases, it is not possible to remain in our current space that we have been in for the past 10 1/2 years.
However, we are really excited about our new space on Lincoln Blvd. in Venice and growing our community, classes, and events, as well as expanding Ginga Arts' programming to the local community. The new space has great visibility and is part of a diverse community. We see our community of students and teachers thriving in the new location! Our goal is to move between September 15 and September 30, depending on permits and construction timelines.
On that note, the move and buildout of the new space is costly. We already put down a large deposit and replaced the HVAC. We are in the process of submitting plans to the City for soundproofing walls, putting up two new walls, doors, and a new, sprung floor. We also need to fix up the bathroom and add signage.
We are asking for your support to help us complete the buildout of the space so that we can continue to provide Capoeira and a variety of other classes to our community. Your support will allow us to move into a space that is bright and welcoming and provides space for our community to come together, grow, and learn. We are truly grateful for all of the friendship and support we have gained through our community since starting to teach in Los Angeles in 2002 and look forward to many more years together.
