Capoeira Angola Training and Travel Expenses

For the past 3 years I have been on an unpredictable and beautiful journey fueled by my desire to find my true life's path.  What I have learned is that I've been sent on this earth to work as a educator of movement,  energy and philosophy.  

Since taking my education in my own hands, I have been able to face my fears and challenge myself which has resulted in me living more in union with my mind, body and spirit. The driving force behind this journey has been my involvement with Capoeira Angola - an afro-Brazilian martial art which incorporates self-defense, dance, music, sports, theater and life philosophy.

Through the guidance of my master, Capoeira Angola has become my calling. Unlike any other art form, it has allowed me a space where I've been able to connect with ancestral roots, practice self-discipline, develop self-confidence, invest in my hidden talents and build a strong philosophy of life. 

For those who practice Capoeira Angola it provokes a profound dialogue that leads to self-improvement and although my journey is not complete as a student, the tools I have learned thus far I am eager to share with my community in Brooklyn, NY. 

Although ready spiritually, mentally and physically, financially I must establish a stronger base to ensure my success. Throughout my three years of traveling between Salvador, Bahia and Brooklyn, costs have become a burden. 

I have created this campaign as an opportunity to cover my travel costs to return to the US to begin a 3 month Capoeira Angola introductory series for the community of East New York starting in October 2019.  Since I have secured a community grant, classes will be offered free and open to the public. The grant has allowed resources to purchase instruments, uniforms and snacks. 

I am very eager to begin such an important step in my life however, I cannot do this alone. With financial support through this campaign, I will be able to arrive safely and smoothly to NYC, ensuring my project's viability and ultimately it's success.
