In the early hours of June 9, 2022, it was discovered that our beloved lighthouse, the Indian Point Range Lighthouse, had been severely damaged beyond repair. Unfortunately, this occurred almost on the eve of a community event which would have seen the lighthouse moved to a new permanent location in the Cape Tormentine Beach Campground.

 

The event planned was a culmination of years of planning and countless hours of work. The lighthouse, at this point, had been salvaged and refurbished; the last step was to “bring it home” for the community and visitors to enjoy. But, unfortunately, that is when tragedy struck.

 

While we can never replace this history and meaning connected to the original lighthouse, we seek to move forward with the project in a new capacity. We have people willing and able to make this happen; however, we do not have the funds!

 

We are seeking 1000 people to donate $10 or more to reach our goal. However, any amount is appreciated! We understand these are trying times for many people.
