Cape Coral Family devastated by Hurricane Ian

Hi! I’m Melissa! My best friend Raina and her young family live in SW Florida, just streets away from Pine and Sanibel Island. Hurricane Ian decimated the area, leaving her family with no power, water, and just pure destruction. They were luckier than some as they survived. However, restoration of basic needs to the area according to local officials won’t be for at least 8+ weeks. With two small children and pets (including a new foster puppy), it’s unsurvivable. The area is experiencing a huge shortage of water, food, and fuel. The lines to hopefully receive these basic survival items are long with no guarantee. I expect the situation to become more dire over the coming days as stocked up items dwindle. I’m asking for help from her family and friends. My goal is to raise money to get them to an area of Florida that was less impacted. I’ve researched some Airbnb’s outside of Tampa and some are only $80-100/night. I’m hoping to provide shelter and basic necessities to them for the next 2-3 weeks as FEMA starts cleanup and restoration to their area. Thank you!
