Monday December 4, 2017 our good friend Shawn Tubbs “FLOPPY” called an ambulance and was taken to Surrey Memorial. CT scans showed he has a brain aneurysm. He was then transferred to Royal Columbian Hospital where he underwent endovascular coiling surgery. Titanium coils were placed in the aneurysm and he is now recovering in the observation room. His memory is improving daily, but it will be a long physical, cognitive and emotional recovery. Shawn likely won’t be able to work for some time and has no extended benefits.

If you have ever met Shawn you know he is one of the most kind hearted and helping individuals. His partner Sabrina Brunner carries that same kind heartedness. Together they are selfless, caring, compassionate and always willing to lend anyone a hand. Sabrina is currently in the hospital daily with Shawn assisting him with recovery. They have a little fur baby named Yota that they adore and bring everywhere. He is getting occasional visits into the hospital to see his dad. Sabrina is at the hospital daily with Shawn. She does not have her license so getting to and from the hospital is challenging. Thank you to everyone that is helping with the commute.

Shawn and Sabrina have been a part of the wheeling community for many years. He is well known for one of his Nissan named Floppy. In that time they have come to know many people. They are always the first ones to help out in the 4x4 community; whether it is with a recovery, fundraisers, club administrators and run organizers. They have been an amazing couple for five years. When they are camping they plan community meals, they never turn anyone away who is hungry and joins their campsite (even if they don’t know them). Sabrina and Shawn go out of their way to ensure that everyone feels welcome and safe while in the woods. NOW HE NEEDS OUR HELP. They would benefit from a little extra support at this time. Every small amount helps.
