<div>The Irish Canoe Marathon National Team has been incredibly successful over the years. Since 2017 we have won 26 International Canoe Federation (ICF) or European Canoe Association (ECA) medals including 4 World Championship medals &amp; 4 European Championship medals to accompany 18 World Cup medals. Despite the tremendous success, funding continues to be an issue, with no financial support available from governing bodies.

<div>In 2025 Ireland had some fantastic results at the World Championships, including a Gold medal &amp; a 5th place. 2026 sees the ICF World Canoe Marathon Championships take place in Gualeguaychu, Argentina from 22-25 October, presenting a significant financial challenge to get a team there. The World Championships team selection is underway &amp; will be finalised by the end of May. We hope to have a team of approximately 8 people travelling.
