Canny Dramatic & Manup?

Hi my name is Fraire and I run a local community group for children age 4-18 called Canny Dramatic. We build confidence through performing arts. Our group is run by a set of volunteers which we started during lockdown purely on screen out of fear that children would lose their confidence and social skills.

5 years on and we have over 60 members with a long waiting list.

We have children with different barriers such as social anxiety and learning needs. Some of our members just aim to feel comfortable in their own skin and need a safe space to find their comfort. It’s also full of children who just live to perform and create!

We produce two shows per year which the children write and perform themselves.

We try to keep costs as low as we can so we do not charge a high fee so that it’s accessible to all.

It’s important for us to split anything we make with a charity so we have chosen the Charity Manup? Which has been quite an important one to my family. They are an amazing charity who provide support for men’s mental health.
