<div>We rescued 8 month old puppy Canelo from Palmdale shelter. <strong><em>HE WAS HIT BY A CAR</em></strong> and turned into shelter by his people to be killed.

<div>The shelter had his leg repaired at a local vet and the postop x-ray showed a good result. A metal plate was applied to put his left thigh bone back together.

<div>His surgery failed. It failed because he did not receive the required postop care back at the shelter. This surgery requires a solid two weeks of crate rest while mildly sedated. He was placed back into his regular quarters at the shelter.

<div>When we received <strong>our sweet big boy</strong>, the swelling over the his left thigh was quite apparent. Of course we decided to get this looked at because he was walking with a limp and <strong>WINCING</strong> in utter pain.

<div>We consulted MULTIPLE orthopedic specialists. There was a large callus of bone growing around the area with * A LOT * of muscle swelling OVER rod surgery. The ends of the bone are dislodged and his toes of his back left leg turned outward.

He needs the surgery * as he is in A LOT OF PAIN.
