CANDLESTICKS - a thought provoking new production

“Please be nimble, please be quick!
Help fund this play…. called Candlesticks!”
Candlesticks by Deborah Freeman, one of three plays for which she was awarded an Arts Council Theatre Writing Bursary, has a new production at the White Bear Theatre in London from Sept 27th to Oct 15th 2022, directed by Jenny Eastop, Triple Offie nominated Artistic Director/Producer of Mercurius Theatre Ltd
The play is controversial, topical, challenging, sometimes comical; always thought-provoking
Actors and creatives have been struggling since Covid began, but theatre is finally starting to recover. However, Off West End venues with limited seat numbers mean box office income alone can’t cover costs and to pay people properly for their work needs funding. All funds raised through this crowd funder will go directly to pay cast and creatives
‘With this play you will succeed in offending every single member of any audience!’ (the playwright’s husband)
Offend? We hope not. But interest and engage? Definitely. People have left performances both laughing and crying – together
