December 28, 2023: Just 3 days after we celebrated Christmas, and 3 days before we were to bring in the New Year together, our beloved mother, Candice Ford 49, affectionally known as "Candy", passed away suddenly after suffering a 3rd degree heart blockage that caused her to go into cardiac arrest. Shocked and in disbelief, we have been trying to start to put the pieces back together. In her passing, she leaves behind 3 children, ages 29, 24, 16; and 3 beautiful grand daughters. Our mother has been a fighter all of her life. She fought diabetes since being a child; she was a dialysis patient, and most recently, she became a double amputee. Despite all of these hardships, she still went on everyday with a smile and huge sense of humor. We want to send her off well with a home-going service and proper burial. Unfortunately, obtaining life insurance was very difficult due to her many illnesses. As her primary caregiver and with her untimely passing, I am now currently unemployed, as being her caregiver was a full-time job. We were not expecting to bury our mother so soon at just the age of 49, and therefore, just not financially prepared. We are humbly asking for assistance to help offset the cost of sending our mother off the way that she deserves. Any amount will suffice and be greatly appreciated.
