10th Annual Cancer Fighters Toy Drive

Dear family, friends, and Cancer Fighter community,
I cannot believe it is my 10th annual toy drive! It feels like just yesterday that I launched my first drive and collected 200 toys. Last year, I went into my 9th annual toy drive thinking I wasn’t going to surpass the amount of toys that we reached the previous year, but we did and were able to provide more than 3,500 toys last holiday season. Not only did that push my emotions to the limit, it made me realize that if all of us came together, we’d be able to change the world.
My toy drive started when my brother Diego was diagnosed with Leukemia. I still remember going to chemotherapy with him and trying to make him feel better. Some of my favorite memories with Diego are when we would go downstairs in the house and press every button on every toy that made a noise just to annoy my mom and laugh. Those toys brought us so many smiles, even during the tough times, and I want to bring even more smiles to children's faces.
Diego won the battle against Leukemia in 2013 but ended up passing away in 2016 which was one of the hardest years I’ll ever encounter. He taught me to push through struggles and come out on top. He’s been my hero since day one, and I’ll always keep him dear to my heart, as he means so much to me.
The most important part of all this is that I’m able to keep honoring my brother Diego, who is my hero and always will be. Let’s make this 10th toy drive the most memorable one yet! The money I raise on this GoFundMe campaign will be used to purchase toys which I will then deliver to young cancer fighters at the Children's Hospital in Aurora. I can’t wait to spread joy to these children and I thank you for supporting these children and believing in my cause. Always remember, kindness starts with you!
