Hi, my name is Krista, and I am fundraising for the ever-changing costs of my dad's current cancer treatments and any other medical expenses. This support is critical to his survival from this rare cancer, but it buys us whatever time we need to spend with him without the stress of the financial strain this has caused my family.

My father, Michael Glenn, who goes by Mike, was recently diagnosed with ATC (Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer). He has been through countless treatments to secure his airways from the tumor growing where his thyroid was once located. At this time, my father needs some financial assistance because his long-term disability only covers the everyday bills, and there is not much left to cover any medical expenses he may have. His cancer treatment with insurance has a copay of $1640.09 per month; at this time, we are unsure of what assistance he qualifies for, and of course, this comes with a lot of waiting. This is also to help my mother pay for covid tests, gas for daily visits to the hospital and odds and ends to make my dad's stay in the hospital as comfortable as possible.

My father and mother would never ask for help, but I feel that, given the situation, they deserve the peace of mind in that area while they navigate through whatever gets thrown at them right now. What we're hoping for is that my dad will successfully get through his treatments and be able to live the rest of his life doing all the things he loves. He's missing eating and drinking, and he misses his little projects around the house, but most of all, he misses his family, his job, and his dogs, and we'd like to get him back there come hell or high water.

Before all of this happened, my father was a healthy 59-year-old with little to no medical conditions, and we were all blindsided by the news when we found out. He is a USMC veteran, he's been working for SoCal Edison for almost 35 years, and my parents are about to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in August. First, a quick backstory about my parents: they have known each other since they were both 14 years old and have been together ever since. We're all hoping that if this treatment works well enough, they'll be able to celebrate their 40th together around their family.
