Sam Schwartze Cancer Treatment and Care

The family of Sam Schwartze is asking for your help to fund treatment and care as he faces Stage 4 colon cancer.

 

After being declared cancer-free earlier in 2021, Sam visited the doctor for pain in December and discovered that his cancer is back and has spread to other organs; in other words, it has progressed to Stage 4.

 

The five-year survival rate after a Stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis is 14%. Sam's oncologist says the average lifespan seen after this diagnosis is 2 to 3 years.

 

Those of you who know Sam know him for his strength and steadfastness, his loyalty and commitment to family, his ability to make anyone laugh, and his innate talent to bring calm into every room he enters.

 

By raising funds, we hope to extend and improve Sam's life as much as possible after a diagnosis like this. Funds will be used for chemotherapy, slated to start January 10, and a planned surgery at Ohio State University to eliminate as many tumors as possible, which we hope will happen in the next couple of months.

 

Any additional funds raised will help Sam and his wife, Emmy, cover additional expenses like palliative care, counseling, and household needs.

 

Our ultimate goal is to cover all of Sam's medical and related expenses until his cancer no longer responds to treatment.
