(My (Matt) 30th Birthday is coming up (28th May) and mums birthday a week later and I would LOVE to achieve the goal by then.
So.. in leau of gifts, birthday drinks and cards, please find it in your heart to donate to my mother! That would be the BEST 30th birthday present a boy could ask for)
Many of you may or may not know that our beautiful mother Anne-Maree has got cancer! Not just 1 form of cancer but TWO.... two very volitile forms of cancer - Lung and face/neck.
She has been fighting this cancer for the past 6 years with a smile on her face spring in her step but in the past year it has been harder to pep up each day, meaning more treatments, trips to specialists in Albury, Sydney and Melbourne. More Chemo and radiation that any person can handle and MORE money than anyone should have to pay.
As EVERYONE knows, we (our family) are not the first people to have to deal with cancer news... the unfortunate statistic is that EVERY FAMILY has to deal with it. I (Matt) just didn’t think I’d have to deal with it sooo soon.
We spend time thinking about the chemo and radiation and the will power the patient needs to get through the day to day... but at the same time, the day to day keeps going. That means bills... and not just home loans, car repayments, food and utilities BUT medicine, specialists fees, holistic thearapies, organic produce, accomodation and travel expenses when specialists care is needed. All of which would be more doable if an ENTIRE persons wage was not taken away by this illness.
I have started this campaign to help alleviate some of the stress caused by the cost of living (isn’t it funny that for someone fighting for their chance to live, it costs everyday in physical dollars to do so)
There has been support from family and friends over the past few years to ensure Mum has the best chance of beating the wretched disease and now I/we ask for your generosity. (We are a proud family who find asking for help very hard (I have put off creating a fundraiser because this disease should be NOONES problem and especially not a community one))
I was supposed to be in a position in my life where money would be no object and I could support my family in this time with cash to spare (apparently acting is a hard occupation to score the big bucks)
I pledge that for EVERY donation given to my/our beautiful mumma will be returned to you upon the earning of my first, second and third million ☺️
