Cancer Treatment

My sister Ann was recently blindsided with a stage 4 stomach cancer diagnosis. This is particularly heartbreaking since she is a beloved wife and mother,  and the key to her family business, Sweet Treasures.

 

Ann started to not feel like herself a few months ago, and after several undiagnosed hospital visits, she didn’t know what to do. Her symptoms started getting in the way of normal life so she decided to change hospitals and finally started to receive the care she truly needed. Unfortunately it was far worse than she was expecting.

 

Due to the complexity of her illness, her team of doctors are still figuring out the best course of action. Luckily her referral to the Mayo Clinic has been accepted, although it is out of network for her insurance. As you can imagine getting the care she needs will be very expensive, but has no other choice since her in network oncologist stated they don’t have the level of expertise or technology needed for her case.

 

Most of you know Ann from her fabulous cake shop in Lakeville, but Ann had just moved to a new location in Apple Valley and was very excited to get up and running again after being shut down for 3 months for the new build. However, with the turn of events, at the moment she is no longer able to keep Sweet Treasures open which means her and her family’s only source of income has come to a temporary end.
