Hello everyone, my name is Candice Musgrove I am recently recovering from Thyroid Cancer Surgery. Growing up I always heard that if you have a passion, follow what you love and be the best at it. As I was on my journey following my love for music, just when I decided that I would go for my dream and had everything lined up with a job and working towards my music tuition goal, I found out during a medical check-up to have a small cyst removed, I was told I have thyroid cancer. My doctor appointments increased and due to me being unable to go in to work when my boss requested me to come in on my off days everything turned for the worst and I was let go.  I was unable to go in on my off days because I made sure my medical appointments were set on those days. I knew I was still on a mission, I took it as a bump in the road and just focused on placing my health first and leaving the rest to God. I went on interviews before my surgery on February 15th, 2019 to remove my thyroid gland and I would let the employer know when I was available and why. They all were very understanding. Taking advice from my college advisor that interviewed me gave me the best advice, to not take on so much one time and focus on healing first before trying to take on both work and college studies right after Surgery. Now sitting here with staples in my neck and tubes running out of my body, time is narrowing down for tuition payments due by the first day of class on May 15th, 2019. OSAP will not be able to cover the tuition due to new changes in 2019 as we know and the timing my classes begin is before OSAP release dates. This is why I decided to make this GoFundMe campaign. Everyone that knows about thyroid surgery, for being a singer is time out for a vocalist like myself. But this program I am studying will teach me how to create music that way when my voice comes back I will be able to not only sing but make music for myself and others.
