Pinc and Steel Cancer Rehab - Norwood
Everyone diagnosed with Cancer deserves to live well!
I am a Certified Pinc and Steel Cancer rehabilitation physiotherapist and I am trying to raise funds to make quality Cancer rehabilitation affordable for as many people as I can. When anyone receives a cancer diagnosis the whole focus of treatment is on dealing with the Cancer with either surgery ,chemo, radiotherapy or other medication. At the completion of treatment people may have lost mobility, are often very weak and de-conditioned and their life is very different from the pre- diagnosis lifestyle, often coping with the ongoing side effects of their treatment. Often as well as being physically exhausted they are often financially exhausted as well with rehabilitation unaffordable.
With research showing that if Cancer survivors can exercise 150 mins a week at moderate intensity and do 2-3 resisted exercise sessions per week that they can reduce their risk of recurrence by 50% and reduce their risk of a second primary tumour by 39% we need to spread this message and help cancer survivors to achieve these levels.
I am trying to raise funds to be able to subsidise specific rehab sessions for Cancer clients to get them exercising appropriately for their circumstances, and on the road to improve the quality of their survivorship and enable them to do the things they enjoy.
