Cancer recovery / pay the bills

Donation protected
At the end of May, Steve was diagnosed with stage three cancer in his right tonsil and lymph node in neck (hint to see doctor). After tests, trip to U of M Hospital for full body scan and talk surgery, we considered  options and decided no benefits to surgery. The good news is that the cancer did not spread to, anywhere else.

We spent the summer doing round trips to Duluth starting on July11th, five days a week, for radiation and each Friday, chemo treatments. Steve completed 35 radiation treatments on August 28th and final chemo a week earlier.

His ability to eat more than a couple bites of food at dinner time is proving to be the biggest challange to regaining energy and strength. He is still maintaining weight with 6 Ensure each day. The radiation severely burned his throat and mouth, as well as his skin. His skin is healing up very well, but damage inside throat seems to be cause for eating problem. It's been quite the journey.

Follow up Doctors appointments are scheduled for next several months, and many tests and scans yet to be done to confirm success.

We have high hopes for the future, but no income since July makes it very hard. Future doctor visits will help decide how much longer of no work. Low weight and inability to eat solid food, yet. Going back to work at high stress Driving Propane truck and delivery will not happen as quickly as we thought,
