Donation protected
Hello, dear friends and compassionate souls,

I am reaching out to you today to share the touching story of Samantha Douglas, a remarkable woman who has faced more challenges in recent years than anyone should ever have to endure.

In the face of unimaginable loss and a relentless battle against advanced cancer, Samantha's resilience shines as she fights not only for her own life but for the future of her two children, Lexi and Brayden. Cancer may have picked the wrong mama, but it's a battle that requires immediate action. Samantha now faces a dire and urgent need for support as she endures grueling treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy. Your help can make an immediate impact on her journey. Join us today to rally behind Samantha and show that together, we can overcome this formidable foe and bring hope, healing, and a brighter future to her and her children.

The Backstory:
In 2020, Samantha was hit with a devastating one-two punch. First, she lost her beloved fiancé, Keyron "Breezy" Davis, and her father, Sammy Douglas, in a tragic fishing boat accident off the coast of Engelhard, N.C. It was an unimaginable loss, and it left Samantha not only heartbroken but also as the sole provider for her two beautiful children, Lexi and Brayden.

Samantha's Cancer Battle:
After experiencing this heart-wrenching loss, life dealt Samantha another cruel blow. In early 2023, she received a diagnosis of advanced stage 3 cervical cancer. Demonstrating immense courage and determination, she embarked on a challenging treatment journey, commencing in April. This journey included enduring the rigors of chemotherapy and radiation, with completion by the end of May. To complicate her health journey, she must also consult a cardiologist due to abnormal test results. However, hope took a painful turn following a PET scan on September 7th, delivering devastating news: Samantha's cancer had spread to her abdomen and neck. Now, she faces an even more demanding regimen, including radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, which may result in hair loss. This battle entails 5 to 8 grueling weeks comprising approximately 50 rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. Additionally, she requires a separate treatment for her neck. Adding to the complexity, Samantha must reside at the Hope Lodge, located two hours away from her home, throughout the week. She returns home on weekends, but the weekday stay adds further strain.

Samantha's journey is not just emotionally taxing but financially overwhelming. She recently had to deal with the added burden of her car issues. Beyond transportation and medical costs, she also has to cover the expenses of buying her own food and toiletries during her stay at the Hope Lodge. The treatment itself requires certain products, adding to the financial strain.

Through it all, Samantha's strength and hope shine through in her two children. Lexi may not fully grasp the situation, but Brayden, her son, has been an incredible source of support and inspiration. He proudly declared, "Cancer picked the wrong girl." Both children are doing well in school, with Brayden excelling with all A's. Samantha knows that her children are her rock, and she is determined to fight this battle with all her might so she can see them grow up and thrive.
