Cancer Messed With the Wrong Gal!

Dear Friends:
It is with a heavy heart but strong optimism I am here at Go Fund Me asking for donations on behalf of our friend, Marcy Klinger. On July 13th Marcy went into surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane to remove a mass on her left ovary. The surgery revealed that she had an additional mass on her right ovary forming. The bulk of the disease was removed as well as her appendix and some lymph nodes. Doctors have diagnosed her with Stage 3 mucinous adenocarcinoma. They don’t name it "ovarian cancer" until they are sure of where it originated and in an effort to determine this, Marcy had a second procedure on July 20th. This gave the good news that her upper GI was clear of the disease and allows doctors to proceed with a plan of action.
Marcy will have two more weeks of tests... CT scans of her chest where she has fluid on the outside of her right lung, checking small spots on her lungs seen in the first scan she had before surgery, an MRI of her brain (because of increased migraines), mammogram, and they will install her port for chemotherapy--- which begins August 7th. She will receive 6 sessions, once every three weeks for five hours at a time.
As many of you know, Marcy & Tim are just getting their start at new jobs in Sand Point after selling their home in Seattle last summer. They have a long battle ahead and health care costs will indeed impact their lives. Co-pays, deductibles, medicine will amount to large sums. Maintaining a work schedule will be difficult --also effecting their income. Tim, Marcy’s husband, lifetime love, as well as the man she always refers to as “saving me” will be taking time off work to care for her.
For those who feel they can help Marcy & Tim approach this disease with all the resources they may need, please donate here. If Marcy can focus on her fight with little else to be worried about, I say her fight will be as tenacious as she is in her everyday life when she puts her head down and goes for what she wants. She has been a role model to all of us who have had plenty more to support us through good and bad times. And this world needs her for many years to come— I know I do.
