My name is Jim and I have Squamous cell carcinoma of the throat.  I was diagnosed in 2015 and had 30 day radiation treatment at that time. Took early retirement and radiation made it unsafe for me to  work.   It was held at bay for almost a year and returnded after one year, therefore at which time lost all my teeth to the radiation and that was another expense. So in April 2017 I had a full total laryngectomy and now have a stoma in my throat.  Went to Cancer treatment center were they were very helpful with reducing medical expenses but still have a 3000 balance with them.  Currently went for another followup and they have confirmed it is back in the stoma so we go again next week to see what our treatment options are from here.  With the amount of expenses rolling in the medical expenses are accumulating and  have an insurance plan that has been maxed out.
