Cancer is just a chapter...

Things started off joyous for my younger sister back in early October as she announced to the family that she and her husband Meeka were expecting their first child. After numerous failed attempts to locate the fetus, Autumn was directed by her local pregnancy center to see a licensed ultrasound tech. Thus resulting in finding out in early December that she had a molar pregnancy that required an immediate D&C. Afterwards, during one of her weekly blood-work appointments to check on her hormone levels and ensure they are were down, Autumn was informed that her levels were in fact increasing and a visit to the oncologist was needed to just clear that it wasn't cancer...and so the chapter begins. It was two days after her 23rd birthday, January 4th, that we found out she had cancer in her uterus and lungs and would be starting a concentrated low dosage of chemotherapy. Autumn's cancer was stage 3 gestational tryphoblastic disease, and was supposed to be 100% curable after her 8 week treatment plan.  God works in mysterious ways. On March 9th Autumn was informed that her cancer had stopped responding to treatment. Her week followed as such: (Monday) Ultrasound, Blood-work, & CT scans, (Tuesday) A visit with the general surgeon to install a sub-dermal chest port, (Wednesday) Surgery to install the port, (Thursday) First new Chemo Treatment. Autumn has been informed that she will now be on a toxic chemo that will result in her being very ill, and will likely lose her hair. She has also been informed that due to more tissue growth in her uterus she will now have to undergo yet another D&C to remove it. Procedure costs are piling up, and she has recently been made aware that because she is so new in her current job she does not have job security and there is no guarantee that she will be retained. I am asking that you see it in your heart to help my baby sister through this chapter of her life that she will undoubtedly overcome. My family to yours , thank you for anything and everything.
