Extreme Tractor Runs - Kilkelly, Co. Mayo Ireland are in the process of organising one of our biggest Vintage Tractor Runs to date. The tractor run will start in London, 24th April 2022 and arrive in Cong, Co. Mayo Ireland on the 30th April 2022.
All funds raised will be going to Cancer Fund for Children's Capital Appeal to build Daisy Lodge in Cong, Co. Mayo Ireland. This is a respite centre for children with cancer which needs full fundraising. At present there is only one such centre on the island in Newcastle Co. Down which sees some 500 families avail of this service annually. Cancer Fund for Children can only provide 1 in 7 Families from the Republic of Ireland with a short break which is why they have made the decision to build a Second Daisy Lodge in Cong, Co. Mayo.
The tractor run will consist of 22 vintage tractors initially for the main part of the run, with an expectation of more tractors joining along the way for support.
We will leave The Claddagh Ring, London, and travel to Cong Co. Mayo Ireland which is broken down as follows:
Total Distance – 833Km/522miles avoiding all Motorways
Arrive in Belfast and Visit Daisy Lodge in Newcastle Co. Down
Travel to Daisy Lodge Site in Cong, Co. Mayo
Arrive in Kilkelly, Co. Mayo
In 2018 we raised a sum of €96,000 for Crumlin Children’s Hospital and Castlebar MUH Special Care Baby Unit and this year, 2019, we raised a sum of €120,000 for the National Rehabilitation Centre Dun Laoghaire and Mullingar and Castlebar MUH Children’s and Paediatric Special Care Units. In 2020 our focus will be solely on raising much needed funds for a new cancer respite centre, Daisy Lodge, in Cong Co. Mayo.
We have joined forces with Grassmen who originally brought this charity to our attention when we joined them on the 32 County Bale Challenge raising in excess of €60,000 for Cancer Fund for Children and Ronald McDonald House.
