Cancer Cure for Jeffrey Thor
My son, Jeffrey Thor, has been diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma. A very aggressive skin cancer on his eye. The cancerous tumor sits right on his optic nerve at the back of his eye. The doctors have suggested using Proton Beam Radiation and although it should kill the tumor, it will cause him to lose his sight in that eye. Jeffrey would like to pursue other options that might save his eyesight. These alternatives are not covered by insurance.
Jeffrey is 24 years old. He loves to garden and is especially good at raising trees from starts. He also loves playing video games. Jeffrey also loves his cats. He has several cats that were dropped off at our intersection that he brought back to health.
New Hope Unlimited quoted us $31,000 and we are investigating the therapies they use. The other option is Dr. Finger in NY that offers a unique "Fingers Slotted Plaque" radiation treatment that protects the optic nerve. Jeffrey would probably still lose some sight in that eye but there is a better chance that if advances in regeneration are made, the proper cells would still be alive to work with. This would require our travel and stay in NY. The initial consultation is almost $2,000, Doctor Fingers fee is $25,000, Hospital fee is about $40,000, plaques are $10,000 plus the radiation, hotel, transportation, etc. Probably close to $100,000.
Time is of the essence. We are told this is a very aggressive cancer.
