Hello Everyone:
I am updating Freddie's Go Fund Me page to provide information on his current condition. Your generous contributions have been incredible and done wonders to help Freddie and Barbara get through this awful situation to this point. All of you have given them hope and truly eased the burden of this horrible disease.
Freddie now faces the next phase of his treatment after the surgery which removed the tumor from his tongue. Unfortunately some of the cancer had spread to the floor of his mouth requiring chemotherapy and radiation. Freddie has just completed his first of seven weeks of treatment in Atlanta, which will consist of radiation five days a week and chemotherapy once a week. Despite some rough days, Freddie's spirits remain high.
While undergoing treatment Freddie is being seen as an "outpatient". Although they are staying at a facility on the campus of Cancer Treatment Center of America this added expense is not being covered by insurance. In addition Freddie's only source of nutrition is a specialized food, also not covered by insurance, delivered through a feeding tube. These expenses, coupled with the expenses of normal life ie: mortgage, utilities, food etc:, along with Freddie and Barbara's loss of income are depleting the money that has been raised faster than anticipated.
Your thoughts, prayers and words of encouragement inspire Freddie more than my words can convey. Your monetary generosity has helped Barbara and Freddie deal the mental anguish that comes with having to think of "how will I pay for this or that" while undergoing treatment. Once again, I humbly ask, if at all possible, to please be as generous as you can to help Barbara and Freddie get through this next phase.
