Cancer Benefit for my wife

Donation protected
Back in January 2016, my wife had routine blood work done at a normal doctors visit and found that her cell counts were down. At first we thought this was just anemia so we changed her diet around a bit and continued to get her blood checked. The diet didn't help, her cell counts just kept getting lower and she was referred to a hematologist. After a couple appointments with that doctor, and no change for the better with her blood work, it was recommended that she have a bone marrow biopsy. The doctor said this would tell them exactly what was going on. After getting the results back we were shocked to find out she has myelodysplasia. We've been told that this is extremely rare for someone her age, 45. This usually happens to seniors 70 plus years old. The doctor wasn't able to give us any stats for her age group because it just doesn't happen enough. This a form of blood cancer that can also progress into leukemia. Rebecca, or "Sam" as we all call her, and I have spent the last 22 years together. She's been the most amazing mom, wife and best friend anyone could ask for. When we first got together we had decided she should be a stay at home parent, we felt that our children would benefit from having a parent always there and She's done an amazing job!!! We've got some great kids and believe me that was ALL her! Problem is, when we made that decision, we never in a million years thought anything like this would happen. We've lived paycheck to paycheck all this time with my income being the sole source of funds in the house. As you can imagine it didn't leave us any savings. We always thought we would have time for that when all the kids were grown. We've always stuck with the idea that if we can't get something on our own, we don't get it. In my entire adult life I can't remember having to ask for help like this. Our medical bills are already piling up. We have a high deductible insurance plan, $5000 per year. The company I work for helps quite a bit by covering the first $2000, and I'm responsible for the remaining $3000. We've already burnt through the first $2000 plus just getting to the point of knowing what's wrong, and I'm now into the $3000 I have to cover. As of the first of the year this will start over again. My wife will need to go through chemo therapy to kill off her existing stem cells, and then spend four to six weeks in the hospital at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY to have a stem cell transplant. I will need to be with her during this time and won't be able to work at all. Money donated will go for insurance deductibles, this year and next, prescriptions, and to help with bills while I'm out of work. Again, I've never asked for help like this before, but her life really does depend it. Thank you all in advance for all the love and support.
