Cancer: A fight for a family's future

Meet Jess, Eliza and Daisy. A young, happy, care free Doncaster family.... that was until just over a month ago. Imagine being 32, a single mum to two beautiful girls, a fiercely independent, self-employed woman and then being told your whole life is about to change. Not only have you got Crohn's, you've now got the most aggressive form of breast cancer- triple negative. Everyone with children wants to protect them and secure their future. Jess is no exception to this. However given her other serious long-term illness (Crohn's disease), life insurance/income protection and critical illness cover has never been an affordable option . In order to get her life back this hard-working mum is now facing 18 weeks of chemo, which will poison her entire body and impact on her ability to be mummy to her 2 girls. Added to this she will lose hair, nails and inevitably her self-esteem. This will be followed by a mastectomy (breast removal) in the New Year. A further physical and mental battering.  The journey is not yet over. Jess will then need to endure 4.5 weeks of radiotherapy away from her beloved girls in Sheffield to give her a fighting chance. We cannot take the cancer away. There is no magic treatment. This hard working mum is up for the fight, determined to continue working throughout her treatment. We have no doubts she will give it her all for her baby girls.  As her friends in the medical profession we are under no illusion that there will be days on this journey that she will not even make it out of bed. BUT we can help ease some of the financial pressures. So please help us to help Jess and the girls. Whether it be money to help with childcare,  loss of earnings or just to allow them some quality family time together to keep Jess smiling. We are forever thankful and appreciate every single  contribution that is going towards supporting  this family's future.
