Keeping ahead of Cancer

In January 2018 my husband became sick with what we thought was
just a cold, the symptoms persisted on and after a month and much
nagging he agreed to go to the doctor.  Our insurance had assigned us a PCP so we called and tried to make an appointment, as we had never
seen him we were considered new patients; and he was not excepting
any at this time.  So we started switching our insurance so that we
could go to the doctors close to our home. It took a lot longer than we would have thought, and then of course once we got it all figured out
there was still a wait to get in.
From the time we started it was three months before we got my
husband into the doctor, where they found that he did have pneumonia, and tumor the size of a grapefruit on his lung.  From there we have gone to CAT and PET scans, and now know it is stage 3 lung cancer. The
doctor has stopped him
from working, and as we worked together all our income has stopped. I am applying elsewhere but no luck so far.
This has all snowballed so fast and the news is so overwhelming, they 
don't tell us much about where he is at cause they just don't know until
times and treatments can be done to see if the tumor shrinks.  We were told to look at the next five years and if he make that then we will go to
five more. 
Every week he has to go 5 times for radiation and every three weeks
chemotherapy, the gas alone is starting to pile up. The hospital bills
have not even started coming yet.
