Who is the money for
Canberra Hindu Mandir (CHM) was established in 2014 with an aim to build a temple in Gungahlin Region, Canberra, in Australia. Gungahlin is the fastest growing area in Australia, and is in need of a place of worship and carrying on Hindu rituals for Hindus residing in Gungahlin. There are more than 4,500 Hindu population living in Gungahlin, and about 15,000 in Canberra. The Executive Committee of CHM lobbied with Government to get land to build temple in Gungahlin. A number of activities have been carried on by CHM and its trustees to raise funds and awareness for the temple.
Why do we need funds
It is with great pleasure we inform you that the Land Development Authority (LDA) has endorsed 6000 sq. meters of land in Hoffman Street, Moncrieff, ACT. Now CHM needs to demonstrate the ability to raise funds for the project by June 2019 and prepare plans for approval.
Donations are actively sought from members of the community to build a temple for generations to come. The temple is a place to offer prayers and educate the younger generation with Vedic values. Vedic values are extremely important particularly for our younger generations as it teaches them to retain their origins and values in a foreign land and add to multicultural Diaspora of Canberra.
We are seeking your support in building this temple and would highly appreciate your generous contributions. Your generous contribution will make a difference in the community, especially the younger generations in preserving our culture.

Apart from the crowdfunding CHM is also looking to raise funds through the following sponsorships. If you would like to contribute to any of the sponsorships, please fill in the sponsorship for pooja/deity form and email to include in the prayers.
Foundation Prayer (Bhoomi Pooja): CHM is offering the families to be part of the Temple Foundation Pooja. Prayers will be offered in the names of the sponsors (Names, Stars and Gothram) and a brick will be laid out in their name and Navaratnas offered. To be part of this auspicious ceremony, the family can confirm their registration by offering AUD $1,116 deposit into the bank account given below.
Sponsor Any Deity: The devotees can sponsor any deity. Please note, the devotees can donate any amount as per their capacity towards the statue, but only those who pay the minimum amount of A$ 5001 can participate in the pran-prathista pooja.
There is no limit to the maximum amount collected. Amounts less than baseline are also welcome.
