Canadian Blind Soccer National Teams
After years of tireless advocacy, Soccability Canada has successfully launched the country's first national blind soccer teams for both women and men. These teams are composed of extraordinary players who are blind or partially sighted, and who are hoping to display their skills, popularize the sport, and develop the program for future athletes.
While we are thrilled by our acheivement of this incredible milestone, we are aware that there is much work to be done in order to:
- Develop player talent
- Recruit new players, coaches, volunteers, etc.
- Compete in international competitions
Despite our connection to Canada Soccer and our gratefulness to them for endorsing our teams, we have no financial support from them at this time (to be clear, this program is not run or delivered by Canada Soccer). We are also lacking support from Canada Blind Sports and the Canadian Paralympic Committee. As such, we are seeking donations and sponsorship from our community to ensure the progression and success of this newly launched program and teams.
Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated. Funds will go directly to Soccability Canada and will be spent on the development and establishment of the womens' and mens' national teams. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Booking training spaces
- Player equipment, protective gear
- Game and training equipment
- Subsidized travel to international camps and competitions
- Accommodations, meals, local travel at international camps and competitions
- Training sessions, classes with experts on training, nutrition, sports psychology, wellness
We also welcome product and service donations from businesses. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Protective gear (e.g., mouth guards)
- Athletic gear
- Clothing
- Sports drinks, snacks
- Flights, transportation
- Media coverage
- Classes, workshops
Finally, we are also looking for sponsors! If you or someone you know would like to sponsor our national teams, please send us an email. We are particularily interested in seeking corporate sponsors.
