<div>They have worked their entire lives and I believe that Tim has well over 40 years at Hostess Frito Lay in New Minas. They had both put in their retirement papers from there, with only 6 working days remaining when this terrible fire took away everything they had and they barely escaped with their lives.

<div>They are a very proud family, never asking for help but always helping others along the way. When I approached them with an offer to help, they respectfully refused stating that the house was insured and they are not "in need". Now for the rest of the story.

<div>The fire happened when a propane appliance malfunctioned engulphing the lower level and forcing them to jump from the second story window to save their lives. Tim, although burnt, ran barefoot two doors down to have 911 called. Gail was rushed to the Kentville Hospital needing surgery to repair her badly broken legs and Tim was airlifted to the Halifax burn unit. They have a long hard road ahead of them to recover physically, emotionally and financially.

<div>I kindly ask you to help with a financial donation, no matter how small since every bit will certainly be appreciated. I know that the insurance may cover their house eventually but it will come no where near covering their losses and expenses.

<div>PS. As a side note I see that "Go Fund Me" has an automatic "tip" added when you donate. They already charge to reimburse for credit card charge. I personally thought this tip to a computer, was too much. There is a spot that you can change the tip amount from 0% to whatever you feel. This "Tip" does not go to anyone involved.
