About me: Hey I am Lee

I am a 45 year old man who has been wheelchair bound since the year 2000 (I was able bodied before that). I suffered a brain injury through lack of oxygen to the brain and as a result I am quadriplegic (I have no use of any of my limbs, except limited use of my left index finger and left thumb).

I don't let my disability restrict my life, I try to do everything I possibly can for myself. Some things though I find a real struggle. These things include;

Making and answering telephone calls,

Taking pictures/ videos (I go to shows/ the Isle of Wight Festival and like to record memories),

Controlling the music I want to listen to,

Assisting my carers verbally in cooking healthy meals,

General questions from the internet that significantly help me in day to day life.

I live in a flat of my own in supported living. This mean that I have a carer with me between 8am to 10pm. I would like to be as independent as I possibly can be.

I have seen the latest smart glasses in action and this is the type of assistive technology that would give me more freedom and control over my life.
