Can you hear me now? ...huh!?

Morgan is a doting husband and father of two young children, daughter (4) and son (2). He is very family-oriented and is an avid softball player. We have worked with Morgan at SPH Analytics for the past four years. Morgan is a humble, grateful, kind-hearted person, and as of last November he is also completely deaf in one ear.

For two years, Morgan suffered from nagging headaches and dizziness. Last fall, doctors found a golf ball-sized tumor behind his right ear. In a matter of weeks, Morgan and his family had their lives turned upside down. In November, he underwent a 14-hour surgery to remove the tumor. As a result of the surgery, Morgan lost the ability to swallow and walk without assistance. His speech, memory, motor skills, and ability to perform everyday activities were also affected. Morgan has taken great strides and worked tirelessly to regain normal function; he recently returned to work.

As of today, Morgan is tumor-free. The only known permanent side effect is complete deafness in his right ear. Morgan’s audiologist recommended that he get a specialized hearing aid to compensate for his hearing loss. This specialized hearing aid will trick his brain into thinking that he is hearing from both ears; this will allow him to avoid long-term complications related to his hearing loss. Unfortunately, Morgan’s insurance does not cover any of the costs associated with the hearing aid. Any donations are greatly appreciated. There is more to the story, but we want you to spend less time reading and more time contributing to help give Morgan the gift of full hearing.

Shhh…we want to surprise Morgan with the funds on April 27, so please donate and share this with your friends, but please don’t spill the beans to Morgan.

Update 4/26/18:  We found out today, that Morgan’s insurance may cover some or all of the cost of the specialized hearing aid. However, we would still like to give the funds to Morgan to help him and his family cover some of the medical costs he has incurred because of the surgery and related complications.
