While tough times are upon us, I think it’s beautiful if we could all work together and lend a hand to the Surrey Food Bank to showcase our support :)
The times I have volunteered there, I remember the eager eyes when I would try to pull out a child’s favourite cereal, or seeing parents happy to see colourful veggies and fruits. Regardless, the clients are ALWAYS very THANKFUL. However, due to the new restrictions, there are new challenges:
“What’s really been heartening has been the monetary donations that have been coming in,” said executive director Feezah Jaffer. “But we’re also getting a lot more calls from clients saying, ‘can we register because we’re getting laid off.’
“We’re going to see an uptake in numbers in the next couple of weeks for sure.”
