Camp Tilikum Lake Valve Fund

Friends of Camp Tilikum,

We have been working and praying since September 2021 to repair the Tilikum Lake valve. After working on this project with Tilikum staff, volunteers and contractors, we were not yet able to repair the valve and had to make the hardest decision ever: to cancel our Day Camp program for 800 fully registered local children this summer. You can understand the disappointment this must be for the children and their parents! Especially after two years of running camp programs during the pandemic, this is the most challenging time in Camp Tilikum’s 51-year history!

We ask for your support to be able to make the repairs so the lake will fill up. The lake is also the source of our drinking water at Tilikum. Until the lake is filled up, we must purchase water every few days to maintain the water system. To date, we have spent $100,000 on the project and raised about $70,000. To finish the Lake Valve Project, we need an additional $330,000. This includes $180,000 for direct costs of the lake repair and $150,000 for indirect costs like purchasing water for the water system and the income loss from canceling Day Camp.

God usually provides in ways we don’t anticipate. We appreciate the long-term care and support from the community.
