Camp Tilikum Lake Valve Fund

Friends of Camp Tilikum,

Camp Tilikum’s lake is the visual centerpiece of our property. Alive with swimming and boating activities during the warmer months, it is the source of fun and a permanent fixture in our camping ministries. The man-made lake was built with a drain at the bottom. We planned to replace the old drain with a newer, more functional one in September of 2021. When we began draining the lake, we learned that there was more silt at the bottom than anyone had anticipated. This made it very difficult to reach the drain and finish the repair. A two-month task turned into the most difficult project in the history of the camp!

With help from the summer sun and the hard-working Tilikum staff, construction equipment were able to drive to the bottom of the lake bed and excavate down to the drain location by August of 2022! The concrete base for the lake drain was poured and the new valve and riser installed in October, just before the fall rains began.

We waited a whole year to be able to do this. Camp Tilikum will have a lake again. Next summer the lake will be alive with the sounds of happy campers! Praise Jesus!

The expenses so far for this lake project are at least $200,000 and we have raised $138,104. We appreciate whatever support you are able to give towards this project.
