Camino Walk for DRCC

A group of us are fundraising by walking the Camino this September in aid of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre

This is the second year of our very successful Camino walk last year from which we raised €26,000.00 .

( The cost of the walk is all paid for by each participant so every donation goes straight to the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.)

With those funds we provide support to victims / survivors of rape and sexual violence  with the only countrywide 24 hour help line which supported  contacts of almost 14,000 people in 2018)

DRCC provides counselling and psychotherapy to over 582  clients annually to  help them survive the trauma of rape and serious sexual assault.

DRCC provide liaison therapists to accompany victims/survivors to the most daunting court appearances of their lives to face the perpetrator of the crime against them and to be grilled by often numerous lawyers for the defence with shockingly personal details revealed in open court. This is done with our incredible staff and amazing volunteers.

DRCC provides education programmes for Colleges and businesses  such as the award winning  Bodyright programmes to raise awareness around the issue of consent and bodily integrity.

The collaborative work in promoting the reporting of offences of sexual violence such as the pilot online college reporting; ehealth have been winning awards.

We are providing and promoting research  to use in our work to eliminate the tolerance of rape and sexual violence in Irish society.
