In 2009 I got married, at the time I was a single mother of a 9 year old son. At the time my husband lived in Georgia so I had to make a choice to stay in New York or move to Georgia and at that time I felt it was the best move for my son. After a year I was pregnant with my second son after 5 years of infidelity and alcohol and drug abuse by my soon to be ex-husband he abandoned our home and went to live with his parents again while we struggled with all the bills. 3 months after abandoning the home my husband damaged our 3rd car while being intoxicated and drugged up. He was in the hospital for 5 months with brain swelling and even though we were currently going through a divorce I made it my business to be at the hospital day in day out with no car and no money. During this time his parents made it seem that they were helping me to get my son to school but after My soon to be ex’s family wanted to try to keep my son in their home. I was served with papers requesting my ex who still has brain trauma to be the custodial parent and that I pay child support. While I am still trying to maintain all my bills and made sure my 17 year old was able to graduate from the same school, I now am being evicted. I have one week to reach out to the courts and try to possibly find another place within that time. I am asking for your kindness in this matter, it hurts my heart to go this route but I am reaching out for help so that me nor my kids will be homeless. Also Pending my divorce and custody battle.
