<div>Si estás leyendo esto es porque la hermosa energía de nuestra hija Camila llegó hasta ti, gracias a la red de amor y apoyo tan especial que nos rodea.

<div>Somos Andy y Rod, los papás de Camila, una niña increíblemente fuerte, alegre y llena de luz. Camila nació el 23 de julio de 2022 en Tuxpan, Veracruz. Su llegada fue tan caótica como mágica: una historia que aún hoy nos arranca sonrisas.
</div>
<div>A los dos días de nacida, notamos un pequeño bulto en su nuca. Los médicos lo identificaron como un <strong>meningocele</strong>.

<div>Cuando tenía cuatro meses fue diagnosticada con <strong>hidrocefalia</strong> y fue intervenida por primera vez. Camila superó la cirugía como toda una guerrera. Aunque el pronóstico era incierto nosotros pusimos todo lo que estaba en nuestras manos para que saliera adelante.

<div>Desde entonces, comenzamos con terapias físicas intensivas. Nos dijeron que tenía <strong>hipotonía</strong>, una condición que reduce el tono muscular, como si sus músculos fueran de espagueti.

</div>
<div>Su progreso fue increíble: avanzaba poco a poco, pero siempre superando las expectativas médicas.
</div>

<div><strong>Camila logró caminar solita a los 2 años y medio.</strong> Fue uno de los días más felices de nuestras vidas. Pero 4 meses después tuvo que ser operada por segunda vez. La cirugía salió bien, pero su recuperación no. Perdió fuerza en su cuerpecito, <strong>y dejó de caminar</strong> por unas semanas.

<div>En junio, con mucha esperanza, volvimos a incluirla en actividades: terapias, natación y clases para prepararla para el kínder... todo iba de maravilla.

<div>Hasta el 23 de julio —justo el día que cumplió 3 años—comenzó a convulsionar.
</div>
<div>La tomografía reveló una <strong>hidrocefalia extrema y severa</strong>. Fue ingresada de emergencia, sin signos vitales. Solo las máquinas mantenían su cuerpecito funcionando. Aun así, los médicos decidieron operarla pues su pediatra sabía de lo que Camila es capaz.

<div>La operación fue un éxito, <strong>¡Es un milagro! Ahora está en terapia intensiva. </strong>
</div>
<div>Su recuperación será larga, <strong>pero ella no se rinde. Nosotros tampoco.</strong>

<div>Aun estamos en terapia intensiva y Camila necesita terapias especializadas, cuidados médicos continuos, estudios, medicamentos y rehabilitación intensiva. Todo esto tiene un costo elevado y, como familia, ya hemos agotado muchos de nuestros recursos. Y no sabemos cuanto tiempo estará hospitalizada.

<div>If you're reading this, it's because the beautiful energy of our daughter Camila has reached you thanks to the special network of love and support that surrounds us.

<div>We are Andy and Rod, the parents of Camila, an incredibly strong, joyful, and bright little girl. Camila was born on July 23, 2022, in Tuxpan, Veracruz. Her arrival was as chaotic as it was magical: a story that still brings smiles to our faces today.
</div>
<div>Two days after she was born, we noticed a small lump on the back of her neck. Doctors identified it as a meningocele.
</div>

</div>
<div>When she was four months old, she was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and underwent surgery for the first time. Camila overcame the surgery like a true warrior. Although the prognosis was uncertain, we did everything in our power to help her thrive.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>From then on, we began intensive physical therapy. We were told she had hypotonia, a condition that reduces muscle tone, as if her muscles were made of spaghetti.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Her progress was incredible: she made progress little by little, but always exceeded medical expectations.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Camila succeeded to walk on her own at two and a half years old. It was one of the happiest days of our lives. But four months later, she had to undergo a second operation. The surgery went well, but her recovery wasn’t smooth. She lost strength in her little body and couldn't walk for a few weeks.
</div>

</div>
<div>In June, with great hope, we included her in activities again: therapy, swimming, and classes to prepare her for kindergarten... everything was going wonderfully.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It wasn't until July 23rd—the very day she turned 3—that she began having seizures.
</div>
<div>The CT scan revealed extreme and severe hydrocephalus. She was admitted to the emergency room, with no vital signs. Only the machines kept her little body functioning. Even so, the doctors decided to operate because her pediatrician knew what Camila was capable of.

<div>The operation was a success. It's a miracle! She's now in intensive care.
</div>
<div>Her recovery will be long, but she isn't giving up. Neither are we.
</div>

<div><strong>Why are we asking for your help?</strong>

<div>We are still in intensive care, and Camila needs specialized therapies, ongoing medical care, tests, medications, and intensive rehabilitation. All of this comes at a high cost, and as a family, we have already exhausted many of our resources. Also we don't know how long she'll be hospitalized.
