Cami and Brandon are heartbreaking stories of neglect and abuse, brought to light in the most dismal way. We received a message about two pugs who needed to be “rehomed” because they were “seniors with issues.” Eager to help, we rushed to rescue them, only to confront the harsh reality of their suffering. The so-called “issues” had been ignored for far too long, leaving Cami and Brandon in a state of despair.

Both dogs are in dire need of medical attention, their frail bodies bearing witness to the torment they've endured.

Brandon bears the painful scars of his past. He suffers from a prolapsed rectum and a swollen belly filled with gas, a mere reflection of the suffering he's endured. His teeth are a grisly sight, completely decayed at the back, with crooked front canines that hang on by a thread. He is painfully thin, and each bony rib tells a story of deprivation.

Cami's story is no less tragic. Severely overweight and burdened by her condition, she has been mislabeled as blind and deaf—yet that is not the case. Instead, her eyes have simply lost the light of hope, and her ears are haunted by the echoes of a cruel past. Her teeth, too, are a grim testament to neglect, with front canines that twist precariously as if they might fall out at any moment.

In sharing their stories, we hope to bring awareness to the horrific realities of neglect and abuse that so many animals face. We also seek to raise funds to help cover the medical expenses that these innocent souls desperately need. It breaks our hearts to know that Cami and Brandon had to wait so long for a glimmer of kindness in an otherwise dark world. They deserve a chance to heal and feel love, if only for the remainder of their days.
