Cameron Smajstrla's Medical Expense

Cameron had the typical symptoms of most kids in December, a low grade temp and vomit. A couple of days later Shawn took him to urgent care, The flu. Christmas Day came and went and Cam was just not feeling good, he was lethargic and just wanted to sleep. If you know Cam, he's never tired! Back to the doctor he went, never did Heidi an Shawn expect they would be driving their 5 year old to Cooks for pneumonia. Cam spent a few days in PICU and has now had surgery twice for drainage tubes. His last OR visit included a video of his lungs, samples of the infection and a new diagnosis of necrotizing pneumonia. He now has two chest tubes that are suctioning the fluid and infection from his lungs. He has been at Cooks for 10 days and the doctors are saying a minimum of 5 more days but possibly 21 more! The financial burden is going to be HUGE! Shawn and Heidi have been alternating nights at the hospital while Everette and Lachlan stay with Shawns parents.
