Cameron Haggerty Memorial Fund
It is with great sadness and disbelief that we have to share the unexpected death of Cameron Haggerty. I have initiated this memorial fund on behalf of Cameron's wife, and my sister, Brandalyn Haggerty, and their two beautiful babies, Finnley (21 months) and Indie (3 months).
Cameron was only 28 years old, but had accomplished so many amazing things in life. He was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and as part of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, "The Old Guard" where he was a Tomb Guard for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He and Brandalyn celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary this year, and also celebrated the birth of their second child just 3 months ago. In addition to being an amazing Husband and Father, he was a Son, Brother, Uncle, Teammate, Colleague, and Friend.
Cameron became ill Sunday evening, October 18th, and tested negative for all the tests performed by the doctor on Monday (flu, Covid, strep, mono). He grew progressively worse and was admitted to the ICU on Tuesday. Cameron's organs began failing him and at that point was not stable enough to be transferred to San Antonio for a liver and/or kidney transplant. 26 hours after being admitted, our dear friend left this world to be with God. Brandalyn was there by his side every minute.
We were told it was possible acute liver failure, however with the quick progression of his illness, we still have so many questions surrounding his sudden death. Specifically wondering if there were unknown hereditary conditions that Brandalyn should be aware of with Finnley and Indie. This memorial fund will be used to finance the autopsy and funeral for Cameron, any remaining funds will be used to support Cameron's wife Brandalyn, and their two young children, Finnley and Indie, in any way that they need it. Brandalyn will have direct control of all funds donated to this memorial.
